Why did you want to become an artist?

I’ve been drawing and painting ever since I could hold a pencil. It’s always been my passion. My father was an art teacher and potter, and I always had lots of encouragement while I was growing up.

What style of art do you specialise in?

I paint everything from flowers and wildlife to interiors and scenes of country life. I work in watercolour, both transparent and opaque, which is an incredibly versatile medium. I work from life, photographs, and imagination; more often than not, all three in the same piece.

The joy for me lies in the fine details, no matter if I am working on a larger painting or a miniature. My job is a privilege and a constant learning curve - whatever the subject.

What do you draw inspiration from artistically?

Everything.

What’s your creative process when designing a new puzzle?

Turning words into pictures. I try to include as many details and little things as possible to make the puzzle interesting to complete.

What do you love most about illustrating puzzles?

The challenge and variety.

Alongside puzzles, what else do you enjoy creating?

I also paint award-winning miniature paintings and exhibit regularly in the UK and abroad.

How do you spend your free time?

When I’m not working, I love knitting, enjoying the garden, and walking with our mad spaniel.
